Orange Wednesdays
iPhone app for browsing cinema repertoires, watching trailers, and booking tickets with the Cinema City and Orange IMAX cinema network in Poland.
An iPhone app I built at Norbsoft for Cinema City and Orange IMAX, the largest cinema network in Poland. The app let users browse movie repertoires across all cinemas in the chain, watch trailers, read descriptions and ratings, find nearby cinemas, select seats, and book tickets.
The headline feature was the “Two for One” promotional campaign — users could request a promo code through the app and get a second ticket free on Wednesdays. The app tracked code history so you knew which promos you’d already used.
I built version 1.0 end-to-end, consuming a JSON-RPC API provided by the cinema chain for repertoire, seat maps, and booking data. Trailers streamed through MPMoviePlayerController — the standard iOS media player at the time.
